Kristin Hennessey DNP, FNP-C
Welcome!
I am a doctorally-trained family nurse practitioner with extensive experience caring for individuals of all ages and in all stages of wellness. I am from Massachusetts originally, and have also lived in Austin, TX and Oakland, CA. I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of California, Berkeley, after which I worked as a medical social worker with adults and families coping with homelessness and living with HIV/AIDS in the Bay Area. Eventually I moved back home to Massachusetts, and earned my clinical doctorate in nursing from UMass Worcester. As a nurse practitioner I have worked in community health, provided HIV/AIDS treatment, cared for homeless individuals and families with COVID-19 in the early days of the pandemic, and acted in various clinical leadership roles.
All told I have had the privilege to work in primary care for over a decade— which means I have the skills and knowledge to look at the big picture and provide you with the best, most personalized care. I’m also a mom and a wife, so I understand the ways our busy lifestyles, desire to be present and supportive partners and parents, and other personal and professional demands leave us burned out and too drained to prioritize our own health. To help maintain my own balance I make time to hike, cross-country ski, and cook. I love connecting with my patients through our shared interests.
One of the most rewarding parts of being a medical provider is collaborating with my patients to build holistic, ever-evolving plans to improve their health and quality of life. However, as we have all experienced, our healthcare system does not allow adequate time for patients and clinicians to work together to create and adjust customized plans that effectively address the needs of each individual. That’s why I started Connected Wellness Center. I am passionate about helping my patients find their own unique roads to better health. In modern medicine we have many tools available to us. Let’s work together to find what will work best for you.
