How can I get in touch if I have questions or concerns about my treatment plan or medication?

For non-urgent concerns, please send a message through your secure patient portal account, text, or email. We make every effort to reply within 48 hours. If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.

How will I get my medications and supplements?

You may choose to purchase supplements over the counter or through Fullscript. Supplements can also be delivered directly to your home from our compounding pharmacy. Some prescription medications are only prescribed through our compounding pharmacy, and are typically delivered to your home within three business days. Other prescription medications can be sent to a local retail pharmacy, per patient preference.

What is a compounding pharmacy?

Compounding pharmacies are facilities in which board-certified pharmacists compound, or produce, medications to meet patient-specific needs. Compounding pharmacies are subject to strict oversight by both state and federal authorities. They are regulated by State Boards of Pharmacy, and are overseen by both the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Why does Connected Wellness Center use compounding pharmacies?

Many medications are extremely expensive, which is a big part of why insurances will not cover them. Additionally, when medications are paid for through insurance, the insurance companies dictate which medications an individual can take, for how long, and at what doses. Using compounding pharmacies allows us to treat our patients based on the needs of each individual, and for a fraction of the cost of commercially available brand name versions.

Are compounding pharmacies safe?

Yes. In addition to meeting rigorous safety standards set by State Boards of Pharmacy, the FDA, and the DEA, many compounding pharmacies further assure patient safety by adhering to the strict requirements of the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB). PCAB-accredited pharmacies meet the highest standards for medication compounding, ensuring quality control and patient safety. All supplements and medications will be provided to you through a PCAB-accredited pharmacy.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pharmaceutical Compounding

Will my visits, medications, labs, supplements, or supplies be covered by my insurance?

Connected Wellness Center membership fees are self-pay. Our patients use insurance to cover lab tests, diagnostic imaging studies, and some medications. When specialty integrative and function labs are recommended or requested, we coordinate with our partner lab companies to arrange the best pricing for our patients.

A Superbill can be provided for every visit. This is a document detailing services provided that you can submit to your insurance company or FSA/HSA plan to request reimbursement. If you want to be reimbursed for our services by your insurance or company or health care savings plan, we advise you contact your plan prior to your visit to determine whether reimbursement is available.
